Spring 2015 Show
Hello All,
Now that the fun of our Summer Spectacular is over it is time to look ahead to our next show. Our show for 2015 will take place on the week commencing the 23rd of February and we will be performing Anything Goes directed by Kevin Baker. Our original plan to put on My One and Only fell through after we were unable to obtain the music. Since our second choice at the read-throughs had a lot less votes than the first the committee decided to go ahead with a show that had been voted for in the past but that we had been unable to get the rights for. So Anything Goes was chosen.
A brief synopsis of the show:
Anything Goes is set aboard the ocean liner SS American, where nightclub singer/evangelist Reno Sweeney is en-route from New York to England. Her pal Billy Crocker has stowed away to be near his love, Hope Harcourt, but the problem is Hope is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn. Joining this love triangle on board the luxury liner are Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin and his sidekick-in-crime Erma. With the help of some elaborate disguises, tap-dancing sailors and good old-fashioned blackmail, Reno and martin join forces to help Billy in his quest to win Hope’s heart.
Auditions for the show will be held on Tuesday the 12th and Thursday the 14th of August at the Great Western Hotel (location may be subject to change). If you wish to audition contact me by email on moirabeaton@hotmail.co.uk and I will give you a 15 minute slot. Where possible Kevin would like to audition men and women together in pairs so due to our overwhelming number of women (not our lack of men…) men may be requested to stay for two 15 minute slots. Look out for another email/post shortly as to where/when audition packs will be available. If you are unavailable on these days but would still like to audition please let me know and we will sort something out.
