Oban Airport Emergency Exercise

Oban Spotlight Musical Theatre Group provided the “Casualties” and bystanders for the Oban Aiport Emergency Exercise on the 29th of January 2011.

A good contingent turned up and were given roles to play along with names and ailments as a result of a light aircraft crash at the airport.

With police, ambulance, fire service, airport fire crew, airport staff, SEPA, members of the press and various other services the exercise took about 2 hours (and we all got a good lunch at the end!)

The acting Summary….

The cause of the crash was Sue (being the pilot)  however she blames faulty equipment- Megan  and Debbie had injuries to legs and arms  and burns, Margaret had a twisted ankle, Hilary and Steevie had head injuries. Steevie’s character of Bill according to the character card was in fact 88 and flying in to see his wife (Vanessa) played by Ellie… unfortunately Bill didn’t make it and was pronounced dead on the tarmac (which was quite cold!)  – so we can only hope that Hilary (who was playing Bill’s sister)  will look after Vanessa and the one that is on the way…
