CASTING AND FILM OPPORTUNITY 21st July 2009
On Tuesday 21st Of July the director (David Stoddart) and producer (Justine Watson) of a short film “Solstice†will be coming to rehearsals at the guide hall.
Justine Says
“I am producing a short film directed by David Stoddart (David’s parents own the motorcycle shop in Oban) and we have come back to Oban to make our graduation film as we are all MA students at the National Film School in London. The film will be screened at the beginning of next year at the National Film Theatre in London.
We start shooting the film on Friday 24 July and are looking for some fantastic supporting artists to be in the film.
We are looking for SIX WOMEN to be in several scenes based at a SALMON HATCHERY which we’re shooting at the Ice Factory in Oban Ferry Terminal on SATURDAY 25 JULY.
The women need to be between 25 – 55 years old and will be playing workers at the hatchery.
They will be performing along side two fantastic actresses POLLY FRAME and ANNE DOWNIE.
They will be needed for the whole day and unfortunately as we are a student film I can’t pay fees but will of course provide food and refreshments and a copy of the film when it’s finished.
We’re also looking for quite a few young people for the SOLSTICE PARTY which is like an end of term party for a group of 16 – 20 YEAR OLDS.
We’re specifically looking for a girl and three boys to play a few parts with the leading young characters. The girl will have a few lines, one of the boys will let off a flare and all will have quite a lot of screen time so David is keen to cast them in advance if possible.
Aside from these characters we’re looking for a group of young people to come down and be part of the party we’re staging at the top of LOCH ETIVE.
These scenes are scheduled to take place on WEDNESDAY 29 JULY and will probably be a late afternoon/ evening shoot.
I’ll be providing some transport from Oban plus food, refreshments and a copy of the film as before.
