In Memory: Fraser McDonald
It is with great sadness that we announce the news of the passing of Fraser.
Fraser was in five shows with us from 2005 till 2009. Mostly in the chorus and various small characters in the shows High Society, Goldilocks, Oklahoma!, Hansel and Gretel and Crazy for You, where he played one of the main roles of Polly’s father, Everett.
He was a fun, hardworking, committed member of the group who would always perform his best, whatever he was asked to do. His Green Bird was hilarious (alas no photos can be found so far).
He left the area when he got married and moved to Birmingham. His health had declined in recent years but he faced that with his usual good humour and wit.
His family told us “Fraser got so much from being in Spotlight, absolutely loved it, and all of you fellow thesps. He took his humour and lack of inhibition down to Sutton Coldfield when he married Julie, and his new workmates at Dobbies joyfully remember (can’t forget??) his moment of karaoke at a party a couple of years ago. Giving it his all as ever.”
