"Steevie not Crazy For You"

Steevie has decided not to direct Crazy for you and unfortunately won't be in the show either - however he will still be trotting about doing what he does with wires, video, photos etc and maybe setting the odd stage....

"I just don't have enough time to do everything at the moment and other things are having to take priority" says Steevie - "I also - despite doing a lot of work on the script and research - was not 100% behind the show - as a director you realy need to be 100% sure about the show you are doing."

Kevin, however is Crazy For You!

The newest (and youngest) member of Spotlight Musical Theatre Group is

Jamie Dylan Cooper who was born at 16:25 on Friday 27th June 2008.

He weighed 7lb 13oz.

Auditions for Crazy For You wil be at the End of August.

Well we sang our little hearts out and guess what - In Alexander's Rag Time Band group 2 definately won the race!

A Goodbye to Maestro.... Geoffrey Heald Smith is having a "Farewell To Geoffery" event at Soroba House. between 4pm and 7pm on Thursday the 21st of September. He is heading back to Harrogate soon but this is an opportunity for those who know him to pop in and say "bon voyage". Its an informal gathering on a "drop in" basis - there is no programme!!!! He also doesn't know its happening so if you see him beofre this - Don't say anything!! A reliable source tells us that sandwiches & tea and coffeee will be available... If anybody would like to send a message to him and can't be there please email the spotlight webmaster with the subject line Geoffrey Heald Smith and your message. We will pass on your wishes to him. Please ensure that your messages arrive before Midnight on Wednesday the 20th (GMT)

"Some people cheered when Ian shaved his beard. It created quite a to-do. Some people feared that he would be jeered. And the audience would shout at him 'boo!' It's now re-appeared and isn't it weird. That such emotions should brew. A thing so endeared as a wee whiskery beard. Has everyone in a right stew. But summer is here and it's abundantly clear. That his chin will be sweaty and hot. So Ian my dear lend me an ear. IS IT STAYING ON OR NOT??!!......"

Despite rumours of a Simpson's cross-over with Apu Nahasapeemapetilon playing the part of Bobby no member of Spotlight Musical Theatre Group was available for comment, Meanwhile Steevie has signed up for elementary Hungarian over the summer............

This paragraph is really for the search engines. You can read it but it may not make a lot of sense. Spotlight Musical Theatre Group are an Oban theatre company. We by our constitution perform Oban musicals. That is not musicals about Oban you understand but musicals IN Oban - there is a subtle difference. I suppose you could also class us as an Oban Drama Club but one that chooses to do shows with music in it. Technically I could say that we are an Argyll Drama Club which is also true because we pull in people from a big area. We also do Oban Pantomimes - that is - to clarify - pantomimes we perform in oban not a pantomime about Oban - but on the other hand both points could be true. An Oban Pantomime is really something to behold. Great fun to be in as well.
