The group puts on musical shows in Oban and the surrounding area.
We are always looking for new members whether it is on stage acting, signing or dancing (all three even better!!!!) or off the stage with the backstage crew (great fun!!!)

What is Oban Spotlight Musical Theatre Group?

Spotlight Musical Theatre Group are an Oban theatre company. We by our constitution perform Oban musicals. That is not musicals about Oban you understand but musicals IN Oban - there is a subtle difference. I am sure there are very few musicals written about Oban....

I suppose you could also class us as an Oban Drama Club but one that chooses to do shows with music in it. Technically I could say that we are an Argyll Drama Club which is also true because we pull in people from a big area including North and South of Oban. Another way of looking at it is we are an Argyll Musical or Argyll Musicals Club because we pull people in from such a wide area when we do shows. However we don't manage to travel with our performace -

We hope people will come to us! It costs a lot to put on our shows and all the equipment it would be difficult to be "on the road". We also do Oban Pantomimes - that is - to clarify - pantomimes we perform in oban not a pantomime about Oban - but on the other hand both points could be true. Oh Yes it is! We are an Oban Club. There are a lot of Oban Clubs about that cover all kinds of activity. Our Oban Club covers musicals and drama and acting.

An Oban Pantomime is really something to behold. Local characters in the Oban Corran Halls with local jokes make for a fantastic evening.Great fun to be in as well it has to be said.

. Past Oban Shows include "Calamity Jane", "The King and I"," Kiss me Kate" and many others - All entertainment proved in Oban.
