Many of you are wondering what the present situation is regarding the possible problems we were informed of that might impact on the groups future in the Corran Halls. I can now inform you that Steevie and myself, for Spotlight, and Alistair Law from North Connel and Benderloch Players attended a meeting on 16th December at the Corran Halls. …
And what a week it has been Roddy and Michael falling over each other added acrobatics from then and some comment about waxing… Steevie getting lost in Iona’s bosom…. much singing and script learning, Pirncey and Dandini getting to grips with their parts! …
Thinking that he had cleverly escaped anyone noticing – Steevie did his rehearsal – unknown to him that behind him – a candle was being lit, and then put out, lit and then put out until he actually completed the scene and then everyone sang “Happy Birthday”.…
The weather outside was frightful – and once we had all warmed up – inside was quite delightful as Oban’s anual carol concert organised by the Rotary took place in the Corran Halls.
Last year Louisa and Steevie said they would help organise the 2010 event and complete with help from other Spotlighters the show moved slickly (1.5 hours – instead of 2.5!) It was a bit of a rush getting things organised and making sure that we had enough stuff back stage to cater for requirements of each group and making sure that they arrived at the right time – but it all went really well (Those walkie talkies really helped as well!!!!)
Thanks to Peter and Michael (who were requisitioned at the last minute – literarly) who helped with getting isntruments/pianos etc moved around the stage – and Richard who was esential with all things curtain!…
It was a busy night at the Argyllshire with so many Spotlighters converging on the place. It was good for everyone to get together – and Steevie didn’t once tell people to be quiet!
Peter was in full flight making sure every girl had a dance – John and Calumn nearly broke their air guitars and Morven and Steevie found themselves doing a “Strictley Fairwell Dance” as the tempo changed! …
John Robinson playing David Roddy Macheachan playing Hal Debbie Day playing Shelia Colin Felgate playing Norman Bill Matthews playing Max Fiona Brydon playing Sandy Director Kevin Baker Morven Wright playing Jenny
Members are invited to attend rehearsals at the Guide Hall on Sundays 7th,21st, 28th Feb and 6th March if anybody fancies it.…
