The publicity machine begins for Obans Panto 2009 – Robin Hood Babes in the Wood – Watch the new trailer below or click here to view the high high high resolution version

Members – lets try and get this out to as many people as we can – lets try and go “viral” – please use your email, facebook, twitter accounts, blogs, websites to get it out to as many of your friends and family that you can and ask them if they can do the same and send it onwards – If we are lucky we will be able to achieve a high hit rate and maybe get noticed by other websites/media that will help us get more people in to see the show.

Steevie’s Wandering thoughts.

As at the time it is only 9 weeks and 1 day until opening night it’s about time I started updating the website (in my spare time).

We have achieved a lot in the last 6 weeks – most of the first act is blocked in some form or other – and three quarters of the second act as well.

There has been a lot of activity and hard work (not to mention generation of heat!) I think that at the moment the school scene is my favourite – although not with everyone – I imagine there are quite a few bruises on various people in various places as they were shoved off the benches.

Dobin Hood grows in personality week by week and who can forget Ian’s pole dancing, Michael’s accent (to be sure) and Ruff and Reddy’s collision to name but a few “happenings”.

There is still a lot of work to be done – so please get those scripts a read and put away – Soon we will be doing complete run throughs (to be sure!).

Peter had a gentle let down last night when it was explained to him that his flying in from the roof and having to stay up there for a good 10 minutes was just a wind up – Thanks to all who participated – He now wont believe anything we say!

Panto cast in fine voice

Well, it’s week two of rehearsals for Robin Hood and tonight was a great session of singing.

Everyone was in fine voice and there was even some harmonies heard!

This Thursday’s rehearsal (27th August) is a dancing rehearsal so make sure you bring your dancing shoes and wear something comfortable.

Just a reminder as well that subscriptions are due so if you haven’t paid yet please fill out your form and bring along to rehearsals for Ken, our Treasurer.

See you all at rehearsals.

Ellie

Number 2

The second night has been and gone and we ran through the whole show more or less in 2 hours – bodes well for a good fast paced pantomime!

Steevie to be new producer.

Steevie has taken over the role of Producer & Director for the next show – The Pantomime in December.

Previously you will have seen him on stage in a variety of roles, backstage in a variety of roles and generarly doing stuff in the group. The last show he directed for the group was “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” in 2005.

Louisa has accepted the job of assistant to the producer (and oh boy – she is going to be busy)
